Series: The Branch of David
“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.” -Jeremiah 23:5
“Only a boy named David. Only a little sling. Only a boy named David, but he could pray and sing. Only a boy named David. Only a rippling brook. Only a boy named David and five little stones he took. And one little stone went in the sling and the sling went round and round – and one little stone went in the sling and the sling went round and round, … and … round and around and round and around and round and around and round … And one little stone went up in the air (whoop, whoop, whoop …) and the giant – came – tumbling – DOWN (CLAP!!)”
It’s a fun song – I sing it with the preschool children often. You might have sung it as a child too – I hope so. And the message is golden too – faith in God conquers giants! It is a message that needs to be shared for sure. But the story of David is much more than a children’s song, it is a corner stone in God’s redemption plan for the human race.
Our journey through the life of David has four “legs”: Sunday Sermons, Sunday Class at 9:25, Tuesday’s “House of David” watch party and You Version Devotions on I & II Samuel and the Psalms. You are invited to all of these, I hope you can be a part of one or more. -Pastor Bill

Acts 2:22-33
“Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,put him to death by nailing him to the cross.

This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
