Upcoming Sermons Series: Clearing Our Vision

“Where there is no vision, the people perish; but happy is he who

keeps the teaching.”

 -Proverbs 29:18

Most of my life I have been very proud of my vision.  I could see and read things far away and read the small print on every label.  I could pass those eye chart tests with my eyes closed (ok, just one eye closed).  But something happened to me … I think they call it “aging”.  Suddenly, (it seemed) the words on the page became blurry … what was happening to me?  And yes, I was forced to enter a new phase a new “world” … the age of “readers” (placed in strategic areas all over the house, car, office, church, etc.)

If you’re thinking that the title “Clearing Our Vision” is not really about eyesight you are, of course, correct.  However, it is about what we see.  The leadership at MHCC (Elders and Deacons) have felt God direct us to a clearer vision for our ministry.  Our desire is to sharpen the vision for what we see and do … where we place our combined effort.  We have felt God led us to this vision: “Loving Jesus. Growing Together. Serving Others.”  Our hope is that this statement becomes sort of the “readers” (contacts, glasses, laser surgery, …) that help keep our vision clear.

For the six Sundays after Easter, we will explore this vision in more

detail.  Both in the Sunday Morning messages and in our 9:25 Class.
