"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
Recently I watched the movie “The Greatest Showman” and loved it! It’s the story of P. T. Barnum – a musical that seems to stay fairly close to the true story of this great circus tycoon. One of the characters in the movie was the real life person and character known as “General Tom Thumb”. This was his stage name and his real name was Charles Sherwood Statton. Mr. Statton never grew past 3 feet 3 inches tall and he lived until he was about 45 years old. I read that he was never technically said to be a dwarf or a midget and it was always a mystery as to why he abruptly stopped growing.
Physical growth is a good example of other types of growth. We certainly need to grow in a variety of areas, but often we live a life that stunts our growth. Spiritual growth is a very important consideration for a person of faith. What are the factors that will enhance a person’s spiritual growth? This Sunday’s 10:30 a.m. message titled, “How We Grow”, will focus on this. We hope you can join us!
